You know the feeling right. It’s time to go to the fitness club, but you’re just too tired or your friends are going out. This problem plagues everyone. You skip a day here and there and then you haven’t worked out in a month. The solution is simple, get into a routine that makes going to the gym second nature ─ not something to second guess.

Keep your work-out bag packed: In the morning, put all the things you need to workout in a bag so it’s easy to pick it up and go straight to the gym. If you have an a.m. workout, pack your bag the night before. Remember to pack your dancing shoes if you’re doing Zumba, or bring your Yoga mat. Having your bag ready can be a powerful motivator, you don’t want to spend time preparing for something you’re not going to do.

Make an energy shake: Having an energy drink will give you the boost you need to get out the door to the gym. It’s important to have energy while working out, but many people discount how important it is to have that energy before leaving for the fitness center. Feeling tired and lethargic is a huge reason for people to skip going to the health club.

Tell everyone: Avoiding embarrassment is a big motivator. One of the best ways to get yourself to the gym is by telling people that you are going to the gym. You don’t have to constantly talk about your workout, but occasionally mention that you are doing Pilates or lifting weights. Who knows, if you mention it enough you might convince someone to join you.

Making a pre work-out routine is almost as important as exercising in general. Once you have a routine, going to the gym will be as natural as breathing.
