This week we’ll continue our series on the “Best of Workouts” by telling you the best exercises for your abs. If you want those killer abs, it’s pretty simple you just have to do the appropriate amount of work. Here are the two top workouts to make those abs really defined.

The Ab Crunch: It seems like a no-brainer, but a lot of people seem to forget that the most effective exercise is sometimes the most simple. To do this exercise effectively, lie on your back and put both hands on the back of your head. Then just come up to your knees, but keep in mind that you must keep your back straight and rigid. If you are just bringing your neck up at best it will be sore, but you could also strain your neck and not even workout your abs.

We offer many choices of equipment that target abs from every angle. Future Fitness reviews and constantly adds the latest ab exercise equipment as it becomes available.

Exercise Ball Oblique Crunch: This exercise will target your sides and give you a much more defined look. Place the exercise ball on the ground, sit on it, slightly roll forward until your lower back is in contact with the ball and keep your feet flat on the ground. Put your right hand on the right side of your head and crunch across toward the left knee, making sure to contract the abs during the movement. After completing the desired number of reps, repeat the exercise with the left hand on the left side of your head, this time crunching toward the right knee.

These two exercises specifically target the abs, but there are a whole range of exercises and equipment at Future Fitness Centers that will work out your abs along with the rest of your body. Zumba, Pilates, Swimming, Yoga and cardio workouts are a great way to make sure you are shaving fat off your abs along with the rest of your body and not just losing weight from a specific region.
